June 10: Free Community Event to Explore AI Pathways

A community-focused event introducing participants to emerging AI technologies, educational pathways, and opportunities for engagement with artificial intelligence across teaching, research, and workforce development. 

June 8 – July 31: AI-EDGE Institute Summer Research Program

Hosted by: AI-EDGE Institute and The Ohio State University
Dates: June 8 – July 31, 2026
Location: Online (with programming coordinated through Ohio State)
An NSF-funded summer research experience focused on AI for future edge networks and distributed intelligence. Participants engage in lectures and guided projects covering artificial intelligence, machine learning, networking, and related technologies. 

June 16-July 14: AI Playground: Explore AI Tools in a Hands-On Setting

Hosted by: University Libraries and the Office of Academic Affairs
Dates: June 16, June 23; July 7, and July 14, Time: 1–2 p.m.
Location: Thompson Library, Room 149
Interested in learning more about artificial intelligence? Join AI Playground, a series of informal, drop-in sessions where Ohio State students, faculty, staff and community members can explore AI tools, experiment with new ideas and discover practical ways AI can support learning, teaching, research and everyday tasks.

June 23: Command Artificial Intelligence Safely

Date: June 23, Noon- 1:30 p.m.
Location: Online
In this webinar, you’ll learn to safeguard the data by following the Institutional Data Policy guidance for AI; select the best university-approved tools for your solution; craft a proper prompt to get better results and avoid “AI slop;” understand what happens inside the Large Language Models (LLMs) to better inform your workflow architecture; and  protect yourself from risks in incorrect outputs like improper citations, intellectual property theft and plagiarism.

July 7–16: High School Data Science Professional Development (Online or Hybrid)

Hosted by: Translational Data Analytics Institute
Dates: July 7–16, 2026
Location: The Ohio State University at Marion (July 7–8) and Zoom (July 9–16)
A professional development program introducing educators to data science concepts and modern analytical approaches that intersect with AI education and computational thinking. The event combines in-person and online instruction. 

July 24: Preparing the GeoAI Workforce

Hosted by: Center for Urban and Regional Analysis

A GeoAI-focused webinar exploring how artificial intelligence and geospatial technologies are converging, with an emphasis on workforce preparation and educational strategies for the next generation of AI-enabled spatial analysis. 

August 25 – September 1: Experiential Introduction to AI and Ecology (Part 1)

Hosted by: Imageomics Institute
Dates: August 25 – September 1, 2026
Location: Ohio State University
An interdisciplinary course introducing participants to the application of AI and machine learning techniques in ecology and biodiversity research, blending computational methods with real-world scientific challenges.

Max M. Fisher College of Business 

Fisher College of Business Executive Education offers several programs focused on artificial intelligence. These programs address the capabilities of artificial intelligence, specific processes that can be optimized with AI, and how to responsibly implement it across functions at your organization. Several programs are offered on an ongoing basis. Cost varies.

AI Literacy: What Students Should Know About Artificial Intelligence offers guidance in understanding artificial intelligence and how to use it in school and beyond.
