Getting Started with Generative Artificial Intelligence: Considerations and Strategies

During this interactive session, a group of educational developers from units such as the Center for the Study and Teaching of Writing, Committee on Academic Misconduct, Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning, Office of Technology and Digital Innovation, and University Libraries will share strategies and answer questions, and provide feedback as participants develop plans for teaching with AI.

Google X Ohio State Student and Faculty/Staff Event

We’re bringing Google to campus! Join us for a special day of hands-on learning, training and demos with Google experts, designed for both students and faculty. Designing Assignments for Teaching about and with Generative AI 

The session will feature short demonstrations of volunteer-shared examples of assignments used for teaching about and with AI. Participants will also discuss additional ways GenAI is being used to support learning that go beyond assignments and that impact course design and instruction.

AI-Infused Course Design Institute  

Join us for an AI Infused Course Design Institute. During this institute, you will learn how to prompt generative AI to help you with course design tasks such as generating expected learning objectives, creating assignments, and developing rubrics. There will also be opportunities to reflect on and critique GenAI responses.

Dates: 4-day event that runs from 1- 4:30 p.m. on the following dates: Sept. 30, Oct. 3, 7 and 10.

Prompting for Teaching and Learning: Making GenAI Work for You 

Join us for this interactive workshop during which, you will learn a prompting structure and practice prompting generative AI to help you create learning goals and objectives, create assignments, and develop rubrics. There will also be opportunities to reflect on and critique GenAI responses.

Construct I/O: The Builder’s Summit 2025

Construct I/O is the premier digital tech conference at Ohio State, presented by the Center for Software Innovation. Features big-picture talks, hands-on workshops, and practical sessions for both technical and non-technical attendees. Registration opens in Summer 2025

Center for Software Innovation

The Center for Software Innovation offers offers ongoing groups like Weekly Dig Ins and AI Tinkerers Columbus. The center also hosts the annual Construct I/O: The Builder’s Summit developer conference.

Office of Technology and Digital Innovation (OTDI) 

The Data Management team within OTDI has created resources around AI for data analysts at the university. There is also a video on AI functionality in PowerBI and Tableau. Both are in the Administrative Resource Center (ARC), so you must log in to access these links.
