The initiative will train instructors to infuse AI learning into coursework. Our goal is to ensure that every Ohio State student becomes graduate being AI fluent — fluent in their field of study and fluent in the application of AI in that field.

Approved tools
AI tools are evolving rapidly, with new ones emerging and existing tools gaining AI features. Ohio State reviews them for accessibility, security, and effectiveness. Approved tools do not share information outside of the university, making them more secure for intellectual property and institutional data.

It’s important to pause and think critically before using AI. We're coaching instructors and students to consider key questions, weigh the benefits and risks, and understand how different tools handle the information you provide. This reflection will support thoughtful, responsible use—whether in teaching, research, or creative work.
